I acknowledge that my performances occur on land that was never ceded.
Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
Introduction to Intergalactica
Intergalactica is a theatrical concert experience featuring original music, storytelling and live performance that moves between electronic pop rock opera, folk, classical and rhythm-driven world music influences. The performance combines powerful vocals, spoken storytelling and immersive musical moments, creating a concert that feels both intimate and cinematic. Intergalactica can be presented in theatres, festivals, community halls, black box theatre spaces and outdoor events, and can be adapted to suit different venues, audiences and running times. Axel performs live alongside recordings of his former female-presenting voice, creating duets across time and space.
Regional Queer Artist
Axel StarViking is a regional Central Coast NSW queer artist creating original music, wearable art and theatrical performance work that blends storytelling, identity, mythology and community participation. As a regional artist, Axel is passionate about bringing high-quality live performance experiences to regional communities and creating accessible arts events inside and outside of major city centres. Intergalactica is designed to travel easily and be performed in community venues, festivals and alternative performance spaces, making it suitable for regional arts programming, community festivals and cultural events. Axel is currently working on an indie art film - set in natural regional spaces, bringing our NSW regional beauty to the world.

About Axel
Axel StarViking is an award-winning international vocalist, storyteller and multidisciplinary artist with over 40 years of performance experience.
Trained in Bel canto vocal technique, Axel has performed nationally and internationally as a singer, theatre performer and creative artist. His work combines music, storytelling, wearable art, theatrical performance and community engagement, creating performances that are visually striking, emotionally engaging and musically diverse. Axel’s performances often explore themes of identity, transformation, mythology, belonging and personal storytelling.

Music Style
The music of Intergalactica is music genre bending and moves across multiple musical styles and languages. The performance includes original songs influenced by electronic pop rock opera, folk music, classical voice, cinematic music and Afro-inspired rhythms reflecting Axel’s early life in South Africa. The performance includes both solo vocal performance and duets across time performed with recordings of Axel’s former female-presenting voice, creating a layered musical experience that combines storytelling, song and theatrical performance.

Wearable Art
Wearable art is an important part of Axel’s artistic practice and performance work. Intergalactica features a collection of Viking-inspired Valkyrie crowns and wearable art costuming designed and curated by Axel. Each crown is a sculptural piece made from found objects, jewellery, fabrics, natural materials and decorative elements, and each represents a different character, story or musical world within the performance. The wearable art transforms the performance visually and helps tell the story through costume, symbolism and visual theatre.

Audience Participation Elements
Intergalactica includes optional audience participation elements that create a shared musical and community experience. These elements can be included or adapted depending on the event and audience.
Audience participation may include:
- Group percussion piece using percussion instruments and djembe drums from around the world
- Audience sing-along song for children and families
- Interactive storytelling moments
- Audience photo at the end of the performance
- Opportunities for community engagement and shared musical moments
Audience participation is always optional and inclusive, and the performance can be adapted for family audiences, festivals, community events or theatre audiences.

Axel provides his own professional sound and lighting setup, making Intergalactica suitable for community halls, festivals, black box theatre spaces and alternative venues.

This makes Intergalactica a flexible performance that can be presented in a wide range of spaces including community venues, galleries, halls, outdoor festivals and theatre spaces.
